Is Slippage a Problem?
Let?s face it, every trader on the Planet has wished at some point during their career that slippage did not exist. I for one have cursed at the top of my voice, let alone under my breath, at slippage on an entry or exit. However, every successful trader on the Planet has found a way to deal with it either mentally, technically or most likely with a bit of both.

The type of trader you are has a massive bearing on the extent to which slippage can affect you. Investors, long and medium term traders will worry less about slippage because the profit targets involved in this type of trading are generally very large. It is also the case that medium to long term trading often involves entry zones rather than specific entry prices. However, day trading methods, specifically scalping, can be hit hard by slippage, especially if it is excessive.

Bearing this in mind it would seem that the logical choice for most day traders would be to choose the more liquid FX market, leaving stocks out in the cold. However, this is not the case. It is possible for stock traders to set a ?chase factor? on their entry limit orders. This has the advantage of being able to control slippage. In fact momentum day traders thrive on this order entry system. Coupled with an account with a highly regarded direct access broker and you have the means to be able to enter orders of several thousand shares and control the risk of slippage.

Knowing When Not to Trade
Momentum traders are also very adept at picking the times they trade. It is said that knowing when not to trade is just as important, if not more so, than knowing when to trade. Times of poor liquidity, such as lunch times, slow moving markets and pre and post hours trading are often avoided. The concept of picking when you trade is just as important if you trade foreign exchange but not necessarily for the purpose of avoiding slippage. There is no real pre and post hours trading because of the available trading hours with market depth remaining good throughout. It would be na?ve to think that slippage plays no part in foreign exchange trading at all. During periods of rapid market movement slippage on market entries and hard stops is commonplace. This activity usually takes place at extremely important data releases such as Nonfarm Payrolls and interest rate announcements. Indeed retail brokers guarantee ?the price you see is the price you get? during ?normal? market hours but not at times of excessive volatility.

Out of Hours Trading
The concept of out of hours trading does not really exist in foreign exchange as it does on say NASDAQ listed shares. During the working week there is always at least one major financial centre open to facilitate trades.

Let us compare this with the NASDAQ. The NASDAQ is restricted to the hours of 09:30-16:30 eastern. Trading outside of these hours is possible but the reduction in liquidity is massive. Price gaps between one day?s close and the next day?s open are commonplace due to this lack of liquidity. If you were to add this to the possibility of company specific and geopolitical news events then huge gaps are possible. At times like this slippage on stop orders can be enormous and gaps can take you past your risk threshold. This is clearly one instant where superior liquidity in the FX market is a massive advantage.

Once again it is possible to lessen the effects of these gaps. By using a broker who gives you access to the market out of hours or limiting your exposure to market open hours only you have avoided the problem. It is the case that many forex traders close their positions over the weekend when gaps are possible. This comes down to your trading style as much as anything. If you are a long/ medium term trader then you will have to factor in the risk of gaps.

Market-wide Liquidity
Not only is the average daily stock trading volume much lower than in FX but it is also much more diluted. Of the $50 billion changing hands on a daily basis, think how many countries, exchanges and shares this is spread over. Conversely, in the foreign exchange market it is estimated that 85% of the massive $1.8-2 Trillion changing hands everyday is concentrated in only eight major currencies. These currencies can be seen in the table below:

USD: U.S. Dollar
EUR: Euro
JPY: Japanese Yen
GBP: Great Britain Pound Sterling
CHF: Swiss Franc
CAD: Canadian Dollar
AUD: Australian Dollar
NZD: New Zealand Dollar

It would be wrong to assume that all stocks have the same levels of liquidity. The fact is that average daily volume and the number of shares outstanding or ?float? is the determining factor. If volume is high and there is a large float then executing orders without slippage is more likely. For example, Microsoft (MSFT) currently has an average daily volume of close to 58 000 000 million shares. With this kind of market depth you are far more likely to have an order of 10 000 shares executed without slippage than you are in Sears Holding Corp (SHLD) which has an average daily volume of nearer 2 000 000 shares.

Conclusion
So then, if you trade foreign exchange you have the benefits of 24-hour liquidity and market depth. This results in less slippage and potentially more money in your pocket. Case closed then. Or maybe not. The ability to succeed as a trader relies on your ability to adapt and work with the market. Those who choose stocks over forex (and there are a fair few retail forex has only really been around since the dawn of the internet) are able to deal with liquidity issues and make money regardless. In fact it will seem to these people that liquidity is not even an issue. It is an unavoidable market characteristic that was there before them and will still be there long after they have retired.

It is a trader?s responsibility to make the most of the resources on offer to them. So much depends on finding a good broker. Due diligence is vital when making this decision. Two traders executing the same sized order, at the same time, in the same market can experience very different results depending on their brokers. Despite the promise of guaranteed fills it is amazing how many retail forex customers feel aggrieved by the level of service provided them. You need only open your web browser and search for ?forex broker reviews? or ?broker reviews foreign exchange? to read stories about poor service and order management.

Trading profitably is about finding and trading an edge. This edge should make the most of the resources available to you and your characteristics as a trader. It is your goal to work with the market and never against it. The issue of liquidity, or lack of it, is manageable, and manage it you must (there are several pointers at how to do so in this article). Don?t let it be the determining factor in your trading.

Do you love dogs? Do you find yourself automatically trying to train each dog you come across? Would you like a fun, satisfying career that revolves around working with dogs? Then starting a dog training career could be the best career option for you. As a dog trainer you will be able to work one-on-one with loveable dogs and help them to learn the proper behaviors.

Having a successful dog training career is dependent upon the time and effort you place into the venture. The odds of having a productive dog training career are low if you decide to just read a book or two on the subject and set up shop. This type of surface level preparation for your dog training career may leave you ill equipped to deal with the business aspects and typical obstacles.

If you do garner any clients they may not be satisfied with your services and your reputation goes down the tubes. Remember if you embark on a dog training career that you need to establish a good, respectable reputation from the beginning. This is especially true if you wish to expand your dog training career from the average household to dog shows. The competitive dog world can be a small, close knit group that watches the performance of dog trainers closely.

As you can see, starting a dog training career is a serious choice that needs to be investigated thoroughly before you begin. Let's say that you have decided you will put in the time and effort necessary for a successful dog training career because you love dogs, want to work with them everyday, and out committed to being a knowledgeable, skillful dog trainer. The next big question is how to do you start your dog training career?

A dog training career can begin in a number of ways. You can take home correspondence courses that range in complexity and time commitment. You can contact local breeders and dog trainers in your area and become a mentor or take lessons from them directly. You can also begin a dog training career by finding any dog training companies or stores such as PETCO to get you started.

The method you should use to begin your dog training career depends on the type of dog trainer you wish to be and your time commitment level. Can you work only part time and want to lead basic dog training classes at your recreation center? Do you want your dog training career to become a full time job where you train dogs for dog competitions such as Westminster? You need to determine your interest level to begin.

Maybe you are not sure yet how much time you want to spend on your dog training career. If this is the case, hop on over to places such as PETCO and inquire about their programs to become a dog trainer. They can answer your individual questions and help you to decide if a dog training career is right for you. You can also consult many book, e-books, magazines, and websites on the subject. You will often find that others have the very same questions and concerns.

You can also speak with dog trainers and dog groomers in your area that have experience in this field. They can help you determine the level of commitment you want to bring to your dog training career. They can point out the pros and cons of a dog training career that might not be highlighted in dog training career books.

What do you typically learn during your dog training career? There are a whole slew of items you need to understand including: establishing effective communication with your dog and basic to advanced tricks and commands. You will learn the best way to teach your dog these tricks. You also need to understand the mind of your dog and learn about dog temperament and the unique needs of each dog.

As with any career you will need to understand the background and history of not only your dog, but every dog as well. You will definitely come across more than one dog breed to train during your dog training career so it is imperative that you comprehend the intricacies of each breed. For example, you need to be aware of the historical strengths of each breed such as the Bichon Frise breed can jump extremely high and used to be circus dogs.

In addition to dog history and the dynamics of each dog breed, it is vital that you have a good grip on proper dog nutrition. During your dog training career you want to produce dogs that are healthy, happy, and well behaved. Understanding their nutrition and exercise needs will help you to accomplish this. Dog hygiene and grooming are areas of study as well so you can present a pooch that has a shiny coat and sparkling teeth.

While working with dogs comprises the majority of your dog training career, you will also need to focus on the business aspect. Your dog training career will become a business. Therefore, it is a necessity to understand how to operate your business regarding fees, overhead, and other financial and time considerations.

Having a thriving, rewarding dog training career might be just what you need in your life. If you love dogs and want to work with them on a daily basis then consider starting a dog training career.

Are you an expectant parent anxiously waiting for that little package of joy? Yet, you and your spouse are still looking for that perfect name? Well…fret no more! The list of the top 100 baby names may be the answer to your prayers.

Searching for your baby's name is loads of fun! Whether you're seeking a name for your soon-to-be baby boy or baby girl, you and your spouse should be curious about what names in the top 100 are currently hot.

What is particularly interesting is tracking the popularity of baby names over the decades. In looking through baby name lists from 1880 to the present, some amusing patterns emerge, particularly in regards to baby names for girls.

For example, in Victorian times, Biblical names such as Mary, Sarah and Ruth were very popular for baby girls. There were also many baby names that are now considered very old-fashioned like Martha, Alice, Bertha and Minnie.

From the 1920s to the 1950s certain baby names rose in popularity. These included names such as Susan, Debbie, Patricia, and Linda. All of these baby names have since waned, to be replaced, by the 1980s, with fancier names such as Jennifer, Jessica and Nicole.

However, according to the new top 100 baby names, there's been a lot of renewed interest in the more “old-fashioned” names like Hannah, Abigail and Ethan, plus many Biblical names such as Sarah, Rachel, Joshua, Jacob, and Samuel. There's also been a surge in nontraditional baby names including Madison, Ashley and Brianna for baby girls, and Brandon and Logan for baby boys.

When naming a baby there are, of course, many other points to consider besides how popular or unique a name is. Here are some helpful tips that you can use with your spouse and immediate family in choosing a name for the new baby and to make the process fun:

1. Baby names need to go nicely with the sound of your last name. Also, pick a first name and a middle name that go together well. (So maybe not something like Erasmus Beelzebub Jones!)

2. When your family finds a name you all like, observe the initials to be sure that you don't give your new baby a name with initials that will make people laugh or cause teasing by his or her peers. (For example: Pamela Iris Greer, which equals pig!)

3. You might not want a baby name that is so unusual that the other kids will make fun of your child in school which could result in low self esteem. So please do not be selfish when choosing a name.

4. You also might not want a baby name that is so trendy that it will sound funny by the time the baby is ten years old. (For example… Sunshine.)

5. Be careful not to pick a name that's really cute for an adorable little baby but will sound silly when your little one grows up. (For example, Dimples or Cutie Pie.)

6. Avoid baby names that might produce insulting nicknames when people shorten them. (So maybe not Smellonius, or Smelly for short !)

7. You and your family might not want a name that is so hard to spell or to pronounce that people will always get it wrong and therefore, your poor son or daughter will have to go through their entire life correcting people.

8. You and your family might want to pick baby names in honor of favorite relatives or ancestors, or special names that show your family's ethnic roots. You may even want to borrow a name from one of your favorite celebrities or sports athelete.

9. Study the top 100 baby names and choose one that has a special meaning that you like - maybe something that means “strong” or “kind” or “brave”.

10. Look at your own family names and see if using any name combinations create unusual baby names you like. Ask other family members for their suggestions, even invite your friends to give you their opinions. Does a relative have a name you like? Be careful if the name is already being used. Ask other family members to be sure your favorite unusual baby names are not given to relatives. It can become confusing in families when two people have the same names.

Conclusion

Have fun and enjoy viewing the top 100 baby names when choosing your child's names. Celebrate the moment. You will find out it was worth every minute spent deciding upon that baby boy or baby girl name…a name that will identify them for their lifetime.

Acne is known to be a disease typical to youth. But, people will be surprised to know that new born babies also suffer from it, although it is not a common phenomenon. Unlike the reasons of acne in youth, which is primarily attributed to changes in hormonal disorders, acne in babies is caused by mother?s hormones which are passed to the baby during pregnancy. However, this acne is not visible immediately after the birth. It takes almost three to four weeks after the birth for baby acne to appear. It is believed that the hormones passed from mother trigger the production of oils and lead to development of acne. Use of certain medication during pregnancy may be the factor behind occurrence of baby acne in some cases. It is also proven that heredity or genetics is also one of the main factors for acne.

Baby acne is one of the skin conditions that can make the baby?s appearance unpleasant. The soft and healthy look of a new born gets totally distorted by spots on the face, neck, chest, back and upper arms caused by this disease. The skin gets blotchy and even a beautiful face lose its charm. Some parents go under trauma after seeing their baby in this condition. After all, parent?s concern about the baby?s health is a natural phenomenon. Everybody wants and make all out efforts to ensure that their baby had good health and soft, smooth skin. Therefore, it comes as a shock to parents when this disease starts showing its presence in the baby?s body.

Unlike acne in youth, baby acne needs special care. Those over the counter creams are strict no-no as it may suit skin of a youth, but it will severely damage the soft skin of a new born baby which can not tolerate the hard chemicals found in some creams. Contact with saliva or milk of the affected area can worsen the baby acne condition. Crying, which is the natural thing for babies, increases the blood flow towards skin. Such increased blood flow can cause irritation to the baby?s skin. Harsh soap or scrubs should never be used for cleaning baby?s face. It could aggravate the condition. Use of warm water may help up to certain extent. It is best to avoid contact with the affected area of the skin particularly rubbing of those areas must be prevented even accidentally. If at all cleaning of the skin is required to be done, it should be performed very gently maintaining least of friction with the skin. Traditionally, mild soap and water is being used for washing of affected area to relieve baby acne.

It should be clearly understood that acne is caused by clogging of pores which is again a result of accumulation of dead cells and excessive oil. There are some over the counter medications available for treatment of baby acne. However, it is advisable that doctor should be consulted before using such medications as selecting wrong medication can lead to certain skin disorders.

Use of colloidal silver soap is considered as one of the safe remedies for treating baby acne. The silver particles in the colloidal silver soap disinfect the area and kills bacteria that are main cause behind occurrence of baby acne.

Colloidal silver soap is so effective due to its main constituent colloidal silver. Colloidal silver is nothing but very fine particles of pure silver, suspended in water. The particle size is in the order of nanometer. In fact, a colloidal silver particle is about 60 times smaller than a red blood cell. One of the characteristic of colloidal silver is the silver concentration, which is expressed as parts per million (ppm), which again is nothing but silver per liter (mg/L) of water. A concentration of 20 ppm is considered optimum for normal usage.

Colloidal silver has antimicrobial properties. The antimicrobial property of colloidal silver is attributed to its silver content and can be explained accordingly. Although silver is harmless to human beings it is deadly to a culture of bacteria of a virus. It doesn't kill bacteria or a virus but when a particle of silver comes into contact with these living beings it inhibits their ability to reproduce. It does so by disabling the oxygen metabolism enzyme found in single celled organisms such as bacteria and fungi, as well as the enzyme found in most viruses. This causes the pathogen to die/stop replicating so that the immune and lymph systems can eliminate them from the body.

Most importantly silver particles kill only infected tissues without harming other tissues or body systems. Colloidal silver soap is also available in solution form. Usually, colloidal silver soap is applied topically to baby acne. As the micro-organisms present in the baby acne comes in contact with the colloidal silver, the silver particles in the product kills the bacteria by attacking enzymes (that are required for development of bacteria). As a result of this attack the micro-organisms get suffocated and die. These dead organisms are then eliminated through lymphatic system.

Due to its usefulness in curing baby acne, colloidal silver soap has attained wide popularity all over the world. It is more so because it does not have any side effects unlike antibiotics. More and more people are attracted towards this new method of treating baby acne. And, none of them are complaining about it.

Creating your own bath salts is quite simple and won?t take a lot of time out of your day. Surprisingly, bath salts are relatively inexpensive to make and require no harsh ingredients. In fact, the main ingredients in bath salts are baking soda, table salt and epsom salt. These can all be found at a local grocery store and are safe to use. Some bath products, which are found in the marketplace, may contain harsh ingredients that could irritate the skin. However, by purchasing bath salts carefully or making them yourself, you will have the peace of mind in knowing that your bath salts are perfectly safe to use.

Start with a large mixing bowl and a spoon or other utensil. Add 3 cups of epsom salt, 2 cups of baking soda and 1 cup of table salt into the bowl. When all ingredients are added, begin mixing them with your hand or a spoon. Next, slowly add food coloring of your choice to the mixture. Regular food coloring will work perfectly and should be added according to the color that you desire. If you want a dark color, continue to add drops until the color is achieved. If you want a lighter hue, add fewer drops. If, on the other hand, you need to combine multiple colors to achieve the desired tone, mix them prior to adding them to the bowl. Otherwise, you may end up with multi-colored salts.

Finally, after your coloring is added and mixed evenly using a spoon or other utensil, begin to add essential oils until the desired scent is achieved. The best way to determine is simply by using your own judgement. Bath salts should be strongly scented because less salts will be required for each bath, which will enable them to last longer.

Using the steps and ingredients outlined above, you can also use a bowl with a lid and shake the mixture, food coloring and essential oils until it is perfectly combined. This will save you time from stirring but, otherwise, the procedures are the same.

Bath salts are inexpensive, easy and fun to make. But, they are also fun to use. Bath salts are perfect to make for yourself or to give as a gift to friends and family. After a long day at work, taking care of the family or running errands, there is nothing like a luxurious bath to wash away your cares and all of the stress deriving from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bath salts contain soothing scents and comfort that will leave you feeling refreshed and full of life.

Advanced re-batching has a few different steps than the basic method, but the smooth end result is well worth the extra work. The items you will need for advanced re-batching/hand-milling will be everything you need to make a fresh batch of soap- oils, lye water (or lye milk etc) stick blender, other utensils you generally use etc. and half of the soap you need to re-batch.

The soap you are re-batching should be shredded and ready to be re-batched. Mix up half a batch of fresh oils, while melting down your hard oils, add in your soap shreds. Now stick blend the oils and shreds. Remember to use extreme caution as you are stick blending hot oil!! If your shreds are soft you can skip the hot oil and do it at room temperature. I highly recommend softening your shreds with a bit of water and letting them sit for a day or two so you do not need to use the hot oil method. Your oil will appear to thicken to a medium trace, don't be alarmed, this is normal.

Now begin to add in your cooled lye water and stir and stick blend until well mixed. Trace is very hard to see because the oil/soap/lye water mixture is very thick to begin with. You may have to go by time rather than sight for this procedure. Stir and stick blend the same amount of time as you would if you were making an all new batch. Add in whatever you will be using to color and scent the batch after a few minutes of stirring. Your end result will be a thick trace looking soap, and will need the 3 week cure that is standard on fresh soap.

Choosing and perhaps making teacher-gifts with your child can provide quality family-time while teaching your child to give from the heart. Here are ten ideas even busy families can use.

1. Have your copy shop help you make notepads featuring your child's art.

Have your child create several small designs with a black felt-tip pen or fine-tip marker. Visit your local copy shop with your child and let the staff advise you about which design will work best. The staff can then help you and your child choose the dimensions of your notepads. When you bring the pads home, your child can glue to the cardboard backing a strip of magnetic tape, available at crafts stores.

2. Make potpourri ornaments.

Make a batch of these when you want to remember multiple teachers. At a craft store, buy clear, round, hollow plastic ornaments and holiday-colored potpourri. Help your child pour some potpourri into each ornament. Close and loop a ribbon through the top.

3. Mold glycerin soaps in fun shapes.

Buy colored glycerin soap bars and molds from a craft store. Melt soap chunks in a can placed in a pot of water over a low flame. Let the can cool until it can be safely handled. Supervising carefully to avoid burns, help your child pour the liquid soap into the molds. Let harden and release. Package several soaps in a cellophane bag and tie with ribbon.

4. Shop fair trade.

The ?fair trade? label means the farmers or artisans who produce an item are paid fairly. You can find fair-trade coffees, chocolates, bath items, jewelry, home accessories and more at www.globalexchange.org, www.servv.org. and some local stores. In a note, tell what part of the world your gift came from and what ?fair trade? means.

5. Make ?jar-mixes.?

Layer the dry ingredients of your favorite cookie recipe in a jar. Tie a pretty ribbon around the jar's neck and include the full recipe, noting which ingredients need to be added. Hint: Use a small enough jar that the ingredients are held snugly in place to preserve a layered look. Visit www.cooksrecipes.com/cookie/cookie-in-a-jar-mix.html for recipes and tips.

6. Buy a relaxation wrap.

This gift is more expensive than the others listed here. It's a soft flannel wrap that can be microwaved for a minute to provide a half hour of warmth and soothing lavender aroma. This is a fantastic gift for a special teacher, especially in areas with cold winters. Available at www.dodisturb.com.

7. Bake with your child.

This one is great because your children's participation can expand as they grow. Even preschoolers can pour pre-measured ingredients and stir, and middle-schoolers can take pride in baking independently with adult supervision.

Supervise young cooks carefully to prevent burns, and be sure to protect any classmates with nut allergies when your send your gift to the school.

8. Make candles.

Kits are available at craft stores. Supervise carefully around hot wax. For honeycomb wax sheet candle kits that do no involve high temperatures, visit www.islandtreasuretoys.com/homeschool_supplies.html.

9. Give a gift related to your teacher's children, pets or hobbies. Would the teacher enjoy a subscription to a magazine devoted to cats or dogs? How about a copy of your family's favorite read-aloud book for the teacher's family to enjoy?

10. Give contribution to a charity in the teacher's name. Sponsoring organizations generally provide a card or certificate you can download or have sent. Visit www.churchworldservice.org/tools-blankets/alternativegift/catalog.html or www.altgifts.org or www.catalog.heifer.org.

Skin is your largest and most visible organ since it covers the entire body. Having attractive, healthy skin starts from the inside and reflects on the outside. The first step towards taking proper care of your skin is to determine what type of skin you are in right now. The American Academy of Dermatology acknowledges several different types of skin. Your skin type can also change depending upon certain internal factors, such as health problems, hormonal imbalances or taking certain medications.

The following are guidelines to help you identify your particular kind of skin and choose products with all natural skin care ingredients that are suitable for it:

Normal: This type of skin is neither exceedingly dry or oily and usually has no blemishes or discolorations. Natural treatments include chamomile, cypress, camphor, rose, lavender, rosemary, sweet almond oil, grape seed and soy.

Dry: If you skin is flaky, ashy, and tight but lacking in elasticity, you have dry skin. Herbal remedies include orange, jasmine, carrot seed, avocado, calendula, rose hips and rice bran.

Oily: Skin that appears slick or shiny with enlarged pores is considered oily. A tissue rubbed against this skin will have oily residue on it from all areas of your face. Helpful herbs include lemongrass, peppermint, thyme, cedar wood, geranium, patchouli, hazelnut, olive and refined coconut oil.

Combination: If you have combination skin, your forehead, chin and nose are oily and there are dry patches near your hair and jaw lines. When you rub a tissue on your skin and only the ?t-zone? areas around your forehead, nose and chin yield oily residue, then you surely have combination skin. Holistic solutions for combination skin include ylang ylang, rosewood, sweet orange, jojoba and apricot.

Acne-prone: Skin with enlarged pores that is disposed to clogging, blackheads, whiteheads, cysts and redness is acne-prone. Herbal remedies such as tea tree oil, manuka, basil, mint, grapefruit, coriander, lime, hazelnut and grape seed are often used for acne-prone skin.

Sensitive: This type of skin is often blotchy and prone to redness, rashes and irritation. Natural treatments with rose, jasmine, carrot, almond, sesame, calendula and jojoba have been effective and are usually non-irritating.

Water is another simple, all natural skin care solution for people with all types of skin to keep hydrated. Experts have found that healthy skin is promoted by consuming water equal to half of your body weight in ounces. Believe it or not, your skin is the biggest organ of the human body. The principle purpose of your skin is to protect your body from foreign agents. The skin is the first line of defense against disease and infection. It is also the skin that gives us protection against the sun.

However, it is also the skin that first betrays the effects of aging. Skin ailments such as psoriasis or dermatitis can be irritating and make our lives miserable. While we never needed things like wrinkle creams or moisturizers when we were younger and our skin more resilient, the fact is that some degree of skin care is inevitable as we age.

But skin care treatment is also necessary because of factors unrelated to our aging skin. Dry skin is caused by a number of conditions and therefore its treatment options will depend on the actual cause. Here are some causes of dry skin:

Medication Side Effects

As a society, we have increasingly become dependent on medication for things like high blood pressure, tension headaches, and even depression. Skin care treatment for dryness may very well be necessary due to some side effect of your medication for a completely unrelated condition. For this reason, you always want to monitor any potential skin irritation immediately after starting any new medication. If you already have dry skin and can?t remember whether or not it was a problem before starting your medication, you may need to consult with your physician and discuss an alternative medication in order to rule out side effects as the cause of your dry skin.

Poor Nutrition

Skin care problems are often the result of poor nutrition. Our bodies require a delicate balance of nutrients in order to keep everything functioning properly, especially the skin. Vegetarians and vegans often run into dry skin issues as a result of not consuming enough animal fats in their diet. A vitamin B12 deficiency will cause your oil glands (sebaceous glands) to function improperly, generally leading to acne.

Basically, any attempt to address a skin care issue (be it oily, dry, or even itchy skin) should begin with a close look at diet. Dermatologists can best assess potential diet-related skin care problems and recommend corrective measures to naturally restore skin vitality. However, here are some foods to avoid where possible in order to keep your skin as healthy as possible:

? fried foods (chicken, French fries)
? processed sugars
? caffeine, coffee, tea, soft drinks
? high fat dairy products like milk or cheese (consuming low fat varieties of milk and cheese may not be great, but they are better for your skin!)

Now the best thing that you can ingest for improved skin care is water. That?s right, water. Water naturally removes toxins from your body?so the more you drink of it, the purer your body will be. Drinking lots of water is especially good for people with acne problems and it will also help reduce the onset of wrinkles.

Skin Care Problems Due to Sebaceous Gland Problems

If you have ever been to a dermatologist because of acne problems then you are probably very familiar with sebaceous glands. Because the skin needs to be lubricated, it is covered with oil secreting glands known as sebaceous glands. If these glands become clogged with dirt, then bacteria begin growing inside and a pimple is the result. However, sebaceous glands can either become clogged and dry skin is caused or they can produce too much and cause oily skin. More often than not, problems with the sebaceous glands are due to poor diet and can usually be corrected rather easily.

Skin Care Problems Due to Diabetes

Believe it or not, even diabetes can cause you serious skin care problems. A person with diabetes has trouble regulating the blood sugar levels. When there is an excess of blood sugar in the body, the excess must be absorbed. To do this, the body uses a lot more water than normal and that can lead to dry skin.

Skin Care Treatment for Dryness

While diet must always be part of any skin care treatment regimen, it is just a simple fact that our bodies will need more help as we age. For this reason, a moisturizer of some sort will ultimately be needed. To this end, it is HIGHLY recommended that you use a natural skin moisturizer.

Moisturizers using natural ingredients are far less likely to cause the irritating side effects mentioned earlier. Synthetic ingredients are often less expensive to use in moisturizers but they are not the best skin care option because the body is less receptive to them. Natural ingredients, on average, cause fewer side effects and are therefore better where skin moisturizers are concerned.

Skin Care for Wrinkles

Wrinkles are probably the biggest cause of all skin care treatments in the United States. As a person ages, the skin naturally becomes less elastic. As a result, fine lines begin to form on the face which ultimately become the wrinkles we hate so much. There are two main skin care strategies when it comes to wrinkles: affect the muscles that reveal the wrinkles or fill in the skin so the wrinkles are less noticeable. The first strategy involves Botox and the second Collagen injections.

Botox Skin Care

A person is actually having a strain of Botulism injected in their face when they opt for Botox skin care treatment. Botox actually interrupts the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles that reveal our wrinkles. It may sound radical, but these injections do actually reduce the appearance of wrinkles on the face for a significant period of time. Now these injections can be costly and they must be repeated?but they are generally affective.

Collagen Injection Skin Care

Many people have a serious misperception about collagen injections. The perception is that collagen is a form of fat that is injected into your face to fill in the lines caused by wrinkles. Actually, collagen is an effective form of skin care treatment for wrinkles not because it is fat?but because it is protein. In fact, collagen is a special protein that helps cells and blood vessels connect to one another. When this happens, the wrinkles fade because the collagen helps the skin to ?rebuild? in areas where wrinkles form and actually fill in the lines. Again, collagen treatments tend to work but they also are expensive and need to be repeated.

Natural Anti-Wrinkle Creams

A cheaper, but slower, alternative to expensive skin care treatments for wrinkles is a simple cream. Anti-wrinkle creams work to rebuild the skin texture and helps with the elasticity over time. However, unlike Collagen or Botox injections, anti-wrinkle cream skin care treatment is only applied to the skin surface. This is why it takes so much longer. Still, an anti-wrinkle cream is a cost-effective and non-invasive treatment for wrinkles that does work if given enough time. Again, in order to reduce possible side effects, stick with creams that use natural ingredients as they will react better with your skin.
